I was rereading a blog that one of our most prolific bloggers Judie Fouchaux did a while back and was inspired by it. I guess because I have myself fully re-submerged myself in my own– Awakening the Essential Feminine Claiming your Influential Power. I have just completed designing our new course –The Essential Feminine Facilitator Training-
http://theessentialfeminine.com/events
. I am so excited as the course has within it –the very ability to transform the world as we know it today!

The facilitator Training is designed for therapists, counselor’s doctors and women who serve women and for women who want to create circles where women can learn about specific assets that we naturally have — that are very much needed in our world. Join us for a four week certified training beginning on March 15th…. You may never see the world in the same way again!

Judie blog that I mentioned – quite inspiring!:

Often we live our lives busy with the details and overlooking the big picture.  We are making things happen, taking care of business, ourselves, our families.  We overlook some things in favor of what appears the next necessary thing to do.  In this way, important parts of us can fall asleep or can hide rather like dust bunnies in the corners of our nature.  These are the parts of ourselves that Maureen Simon addresses in her new book “Awakening The Essential Feminine: Claiming Your Influential Power.”

Impossible!  Not so.  As bright young women fairly sure of ourselves we move out into a world which is dominated by a masculine mind set.  Sometimes we are actually told, “You don’t think the way I do, with the implication that the way “I do” is the superior way to think.  After all it is “logical”.  Looking around at society it does seem to be the preferred way of thinking.  With that influence around us, it is no wonder that we have devalued our gifts, our natural way of being in the world to take on a costume that all too soon becomes our reality.

However, by going in that direction, we are leaving behind valuable gifts that were meant to be a balance in the world, a balance we need now more than ever.   As Maureen points out, these gifts were given to us in greater proportion as women.  They are as important to our being women as the other attributes that differentiate us from men.  They include our way of thinking.

Women’s thinking is naturally collaborative, inclusive, interconnected, intuitive, empathetic, and flexible.  Her brain makes it so.  When Professor Higgins asks, “Why can’t women think like a man?” he overlooks a basic fact.  They weren’t meant to think like men.  We were meant to think like women and bring balance and harmony in the world.

Now with the world in such chaos it is time to awaken our dormant attributes.   By awakening The Essential Feminine within we can begin Claiming Our Influential Power.

Our world is consistently directing us to look forward– to look ahead in order to figure out what is next— and to stay ahead of the curve.  I must admit I do it myself.  And some of the work we do together here at TEF encourages you to look ahead and be conscious of next steps and new dreams. But I am learning that there’s a fine line and a fine balance that we need to create in the area of planning and  fulfilling our dreams as we enter this New Year—2012 and in responding and reacting to what we think the world needs from us.

Working diligently last year to create a company – the company of my dreams and to launch a book – the book of dreams –I learned a lot.  I learned that having goals and objectives (derived from within and created live… in the world) is essential.  I also learned that it can be very healthy to stretch ourselves to learn new things—things we may dread learning such as- in my case– technology –or for yourself … fill in the blank… (Name the area you are most stretched to learn that would actually benefit you J).I also learned that placing my heart and attention in a focused way to achieve a desired outcome is the way I get things get accomplished.

In 2012 I am committed to continue dreaming – and—creating. I am also committed to learn a whole new way to pace my day—to allow for spontaneity and structure to live side by side.  I am also committed to live each day and moment in the day and moment I am in not in the past or the future. This means I will be listening from with-in—being more spontaneous about time and allow for the interesting gifts that life presents us each day. I remember years back hearing the phrase “Be Here Now” and not fully understanding it. I believe I now truly understand.

As I said before-I believe that there’s a fine line and a fine balance in how we create and fulfill our dreams. My wish for you this New Year is that you will find the natural rhythm that allows to:

  • Know what is yours to create or contribute your precious life force to
  • Have the courage to live your dream
  • Find the balance and rhythm to live harmoniously honoring your needs and natural rhythm
  • And to live the life that you are here to live—fully and joyfully.

May 2012 be the year you truly shine!

Happy New Year!

Our world seems overwhelmed by chaos.  The problems we face are monumental and interconnected to the rest of the world and we don’t seem to be able to hide our heads under the blankets any longer and have them all go away.  In fact, the only solutions seem to be ones in which we take collaborative action; actions requiring us to put aside our inner fears, our negative approach and to move into unfamiliar waters.

Collaborative action is based in putting aside personal interests and needs for the benefit of a larger goal.  It takes inclusiveness, seeing oneself as part of a larger whole, walking in someone else’s shoes.  These qualities are especially strong in women.  By their very nature they are peace makers, interested in building strong relationships, looking for common bonds and shared interests.  These are just some of the feminine attributes that women possess which we need to rely on to overcome the chaos.

Many women are taking a more powerful stance today.  If you haven’t viewed “Women, War and Peace” yet, be sure to see this amazing documentary showing what women in war torn areas of our world have been doing to change not only their lives but all our lives.  These women are using their attributes in a positive way.  Now is the time for us to realize that these natural attributes, too long overlooked and/or negated, are crucial for positive change today and in the future.  We need to encourage ourselves and our young women to value our feminine perspective.  It is only through the addition of the feminine perspective that we will achieve balance and peace in our world.

Gratitude almost feels like an overstated word. Friends and clients often say that balance is another overstated word. Cultures and societies use words repeatedly but one must ask why. My thought is the words that we are hearing so frequently are often the qualities we need most in our lives.
My friend Patti Hawn who has joined us here at TEF over the past couple of years, really understands the power of gratitude as she has lived a life of many challenges and been a prime example of someone who has learned how to turn challenges into opportunities. The days in which we are living require us to look for light in times where there seems to be only darkness. Gratitude is one of the universal spiritual principles that when practiced daily transforms our lives and the lives of those we touch.
On November 23rd Patti Hawn and I – in the next complimentary Essential Feminine Living Room (link) – will look at the power of gratitude and share specific practices and ways to attract more harmony, peace of mind and happiness into your life, the perfect beginning to your holiday season. Please join us. We look forward to seeing you there.
I hope you will join us for this timely Living Room.  November 2011 – Register for free!  12:00 pm to 1:15 pm.  It’s complimentary!

Say good-bye to 2009 and transform your 2010. In a year that has seemed to emphasize failure, financial stress and doing things the hard way, we have an opportunity to make a change. Our time is now to create powerful, influential success with ease and from a Feminine Perspective. Women hold natural talents and gifts that are particularly essential in business, relationship building and politics today; gifts, such as being relational and caring, holding advanced communication skills and being able to actively see the whole in the environments in which they live. We can use these gifts in creating a blueprint for 2010 which will transform our lives and the lives of those around us.

There is no greater time in the history of the world where these feminine traits and attributes have been more needed. If we take a moment to look outside ourselves, we can’t help but see the imbalance in our world. Over a hundred years ago, Baha’u’llah (Founder of the Bahia Faith), wrote, “The world in the past has been ruled by force, and man has dominated over woman by reason of his more forceful and aggressive qualities both of body and mind. But the balance is already shifting – force is losing its weight and mental alertness, intuition, and the spiritual qualities of love and service, in which woman is strong, are gaining ascendancy. Hence, the new age will be an age less masculine, and more permeated with the feminine ideals — or, to speak more exactly, will be an age in which the masculine and feminine elements of civilization will be more evenly balanced.” Are we ready to create that new age? Are we ready to bring forth the feminine attributes that can transform our world?

To me, it would not be a successful world if women elbowed men out and stepped in to the limelight of our world’s leadership. But as Baha’u’llah mentions in the quote above, we will all benefit from a world where the masculine and feminine elements are more evenly balanced. These changes will not happen without us; women stepping up, claiming our feminine attributes and learning to use them to create balance within ourselves first.

Begin 2010 by taking steps to understand how you can use your feminine gifts in business, relationships, and leadership. Join us in a three month individual consulting program to launch your New Year with maximum success. Find out more by emailing info@theessentialfeminine.com

Each of us has the ability to make a huge difference in our world! As my favorite Irish poet John O’ Donohue has written in Anam Cara:

“… There is a unique destiny for each person. Each one of has something to do here that can be done by no one else. If someone else could fulfill your destiny then they would be in your place and you would not be here…”

Having grown up in an Irish family and community… I must admit I do love the directness of the Irish. John’s statement is direct and fairly opinionated but opens many questions in my own mind. I have always interpreted Johns words to mean that we are each unique and each hold an important part of the whole.  It has strongly led me to believe that the world needs our unique offering. This quote often guides me to look more deeply at what I believe and value; to look more closely at what really lights my fire. I have found it useful in my journey to ask myself:

  •  What issues or causes on the planet do I feel most strongly about?
  • What is my unique destiny?
  • What are my greatest gifts, strengths and talents and where can they make the most contribution?
  • Where do I experience the most joy and satisfaction?
  • What do I want more of in my life (of the things that I most value)?

I believe that NOW is the time for us to share our uniqueness with the world.  We need to be “Women Influencing Now” to help bring a balance into the world.  For that we need to live dynamically.  It is clear to me that part of the art of alive and dynamic living is staying “awake at the wheel”.  These questions awaken me to stay on course, moving closer to my own unique contribution.

What do you really believe in and value? What questions do you need to ask yourself right now to find your true beliefs and direction?
