Clarity and Consciousness in Business Comes From Not Being Afraid of the Dark???

Why? Many of us fear the dark- the dark of night – the dark experiences that life presents us with.

Fear not- for the darkness provides us with the well needed contrast which allows us to fully experience light. Each experience that we have that feels dark- carries with it in the lessons and opportunities that it leads us to -the light This season  is full of short days and if we allow darkness  to inform us – it will be a great teacher and friend. Do take time to go with in and explore the places, feelings and thoughts within you that you normally would not go because of a lack of time or stillness. Find time to be still and listen from with in..

To be clear and conscious in our businesses we must be clear about the richer deeper meaning of our life. We can clearly hear messages and experience thoughts and divinations when we make time to listen.  Notice in the quiet of these dark days what comes to mind. You may get feelings and guidance that will reveal the deeper meaning of your existence here. Look for the deeper meaning of your life in the quiet. Notice what most excites you and where you are drawn. When you live and express the deeper meaning of your life each day in the work or service we offer we simply are living consciously.

Contemplation on Summer Months Passed: Any Lesson Learned- I Ask- Myself?

This week I have I been enjoying looking at the summer and taking inventory of the challenges and fruitful opportunities that the past 3 months have brought. Each year as the seasons fold from one to another I find I have a strong urge to stop and reflect…This reflection has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Having a Celtic background the turning of the seasons holds great significance. Each season has a feel and rhythm that is honored.

My greatest lessons this summer have been:

•  My friends are really my tribe and guardian angels and I love and care for them very much.
• Taking care of and being with family are super high priority.
• When I move too fast and cut back on the care I give myself – I pay a price.
• Lots of time in nature totally fills my soul and rejuvenates me.

I would love to hear what the summer lessons you have gained this summer.

To me having a clear conscious understanding of life’s lessons is living consciously.

There Came a Time When I Had to Line Up What I Have Been Reading and Put It to Good Use in My Own Life

I now really believe that life is both a process and a journey. It’s funny – I have been listening to great inspiring speakers for many years, reading amazing books and spending much of my life looking at what makes me/us tick and how  I/we can live more conscious satisfied lives.

I know many of us have been doing the same. My own life has been my main test laboratory and I have also been honored to work with many women who have also taught me much in these areas. Yet this past year has presented me with number of tests that have forced me to look deep and hard at how I am living my life and, because of this personal inquiry, I have something that I want to share with you — my personal new learnings that are transforming my life.

I have been writing a lot these days about how we rush around and live our lives without being in touch with who we are, with what we really need and with what we really have to offer in the way of our greatest gifts and talents.

I stopped this month to look closely at how I am living, what is working and what is not working and took time to look closely at three key principles that, now that I am using them in my practice, have been changing the entire quality of my life! I am now convinced that when these three qualities below are all lined up together  in my day, amazing things happen.

These qualities are:

• Gratitude with a very focused intentional approach
• Conscious choices, the vehicle of our daily actions
• Self awareness  of our personal destiny

Recently, I have been looking at specific ways to create greater ease in my own life and I have been working  daily with all three principals and have truly been able to slow down, smell the roses (of summer) and accomplish way more with ease.

I am convinced that life can be lived with far greater ease and that it is our responsibility to create the elixir of attributes and qualities that we need to focus on and live within our lives daily. This is true consciousness!

I invite you to revisit gratitude and her close friends and supports, particularly now because I believe she holds essential potential that may be very important to your success and how you are currently living your life.

I believe that there are a number of key universal principals that need to come alive and off the pages of the books we have been reading in order for the world to become a better place. I also believe that we women need to show up and lead the change that is so needed in our world today!

Oh, by the way, we will be looking at this essential and amazing lineup in detail in our July Essential Feminine Living Room. This is a great place to start to deepen your awareness of how you are choosing to live your life and why the outcomes you are receiving may be as they are.

I had to Redefine Success For Myself- Recently…

It took me a while- actually- most of my life to realize I had been living my life with an imposed definition of success.

My parents are humble Irish folk who actually instilled in me -a sense of appreciation for the simple – grounded aspects of life. Growing up in the States I guess I learned a different more high powered definition of success, one that I associated with the “American Dream”.

For many -success is defined by owning an amazing car, a number of houses, having the world at your fingertips and by having a full bank account. In my life, at various times, I have been blessed to experience all of these things and over the course of my life many of these things have come and gone- some more than once. Having had such diverse experiences with material success has given me the opportunity to assess and look closely at what I truly value- what is most important to me. I have come to believe that family friends, precious time in nature, connection to spirit and creating the precious time to listen from within- are core values for me.

I have come to learn that life has phases and stages – often unrelated to our chronological age. These phases and stages provide us with a chance to connect with our higher wisdom and knowledge.  It is so important to take the time to look closely at our lives and to be aware of what guides and drives us. It is important to check in and to determine if we are driven by images and ideas of the past and if we are defining success from external sources and not from our core values.

Doing My Duty

Success. It’s a word I’ve resisted. When I hear it, my mind attaches to the modern ideas of success: a good job, college degrees, fame, wealth, living in a big house, and being able to purchase whatever we desire.

Some of these “successes” I’ve experienced. Some, I have not. None, I am experiencing right now.

But here is what I am experiencing: daily insight about what I experience, a sense I am being guided and protected, inner flexibility, a renewed sense of strength, courage, and stamina, and a connection to purpose.

I am expanding my mind, reading ancient spiritual texts, and feeling more grounded. I have moments of complete joy and expansion- as though there is no separation and I am a part of everything.

This year alone, I have experienced a divine intervention: a car crash, which had all the ingredients to turn fatal, did not. I have faced issues with my family, I’d been avoiding that changed the fate of those involved. These are successes- successes in my family, and inside my soul.

Success is defined as follows: impressive achievement, especially the attainment of fame, wealth or power. The word itself, especially in the west, makes our mind assess our lives and ourselves and begins to take score. Have I achieved those attainments?

In the past few months, I have turned away from this modern definition of success, and joined a sacrament, which seems lost upon our modern world: duty. And, I have reconnected to what I value most: my family and my spirit- where my sense of duty is restored.

This restoration breathes freshness and aliveness into my being, something I’d been lacking while keeping score and worrying I was failing. This is how I am redefining success.

Am I everyday, answering the call of my duty, fully and completely, regardless of material (or even spiritual) favor? If so, then I am successful.

The solstice presents us with wonderful opportunities to take note of where the light shines brightest in our lives.  As we reach the longest day of the year we can take inventory of where our greatest gifts of light live in our lives.  This special week take notice of the midsummer sun.  Absorb the warmth.  Light a candle.  Appreciate the light. I am becoming very clear that when I am very grateful for the riches in my life – more riches follow. The light is everywhere now. Shine it on what you are most grateful for .
