After taking time off to regroup this past year I personally needed to check in with myself so I could kick start my life and evaluate what would be next for me. I would like to invite you to consider some of the questions I pondered when reflecting on what was next in my life:

  • Is there a place you lack courage when you think about living your dreams?
  • What stops you from moving forward?
  • Are you getting niggling ideas or thoughts that you are putting to the side- not paying attention to?
  • What risks do you need to take now to grow and to move towards your dreams?
  • How can you now manifest the things you visualize and dream?
  • Day by day what are the first steps you need to take?
  • Dreams are a way to call us forward to live more consciously.

Are you getting any of these signs? If So, Listen Up!

A niggling feeling that something is not right…that we are not fulfilled

Experiencing a reoccurring sense that there is more to life than the way I am now living.

Or are you receiving information telling you to move on or make a change now!

Always listen to these cues because they provide invaluable information and opportunities to move you towards your greatest dreams. Do not be afraid. The rewards of living in alignment with why you are here can be unbeatable and can lead to a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment beyond description!

Thinking about summer almost always brings up the thought of vacationing.  When I was a child we lived on the East Coast of the U.S.  We always took our vacation on Cape Cod.  I have special memories of deep pine forests, ice cream cones, long bike trails and hot sandy beaches that warmed my toes.  As I embraced the business world, the lines of vacation became more blurred.  During some years’ time became less available for long summer strolls on the beach.  At the same time the need for rejuvenation and rest was greater.   I have always need to slow down so I can hear my natural my rhythm so that I can begin to hear myself and what I really need. This, for me, is the finest gift of a staycation; a truly relaxing vacation.

Today with the world moving at such a quick pace, many of my friends and colleagues are reevaluating what they need in a vacation/staycation.  For many this needs to be a block of time set aside for rejuvenation, contemplation and renewal.  That is not to say that the traditional vacation luxury needs to go.  However, many people are being financially frugal or working more than they have in the past.  So what’s a woman to do?

What would be your version of an ideal staycation or vacation?    I would love to know.

If you want some help envisioning your ideal staycation- our Bubble Bath may help.

Ready to Take the Plunge?

I believe now more than ever before in the history of planet earth that we are all being asked to:

v  Know and live with the exact purpose that we are here to live- in the forefront of our day and in the way we prioritize our time use.

v  Realize that we are the caption of our own ship. We by our beliefs and actions, each day, guide the outcome of our life.

v  Life is wonderful when we find out where we need to wake up ( form old habits, limiting beliefs and all else that keeps us small) and when we begin to bust through all limitations and fully show up as the amazing being we truly are.

I now see precisely where I have held myself back and I now know just how clear my day to day intentions need to be. It has become clear to me in my own life that the clearer I am about my intentions the more powerful the outcomes are.  I guess by now the sounds obvious since so many world teachers are focusing on the power of intention.  The trutIMG_2513h of the matter is that it needs to become an integrated part of our daily practice or these are just senseless words. And the real truth is that a new portal of possibility has opened and your fully showing up is not just a nice thing – it is essential for us to turn spaceship earth around from the nose dive it seems to be facing.

We now each need to understand what the bigger picture of our life holds.  What is the meaning we are here to express, or live or create?  True magic in life arises when we line up this bigger picture with our daily choices.  The bigger picture serves as a litmus test in which we can begin to measure if our life is in alignment or not.

For many years, I’ve been discussing the idea that each of us has a higher purpose or meaning.  It is the responsibility of each of us to discover our own higher purpose.  A few questions that you may want to ask yourself might include:

·         How can I allow more good into my life?

·         What brings me pure joy?

·         What is deeply meaningful for me?

·         What is the best way for me to develop a life that allows me to live my purpose or meaning for being here now- today?

·         What is the best way for me to create quiet time or time for introspection so that I can find the true answer to this question?

It’s funny- I was just thinking how fast time moves by…like a swift moving river. As I speak with women today on a regular basis I hear the comment that life moves so fast.  For this very reason it is essential that we create time to answer these very important questions.  Once we do, our quality of life becomes far richer and more meaningful.

I believe each of us is here to create an impact and to effect change.  As I make the year trip to Ireland and England I have asking myself what is the deepest meaning for my life. We all need to do this now and then.

I also believe there has never been a time on this planet where there are more openings and opportunities for us to show up and make a contribution.  I suggest that if you are interested in creating a life of contribution and meaning that you answer this question.

·         How well do you know yourself? (Are there external voices and influences confusing you?)

·         What do you now need to create in your life?

·         Are you committed to taking your life to the next level?  If so, what does that look like?  If not, what’s stopping you?

Let me know if you want to speak with me about why you are here… it would be a joy for me.

Warmly,

Maureen

There has been much conversation concerning how women and men speak different languages and look at things differently.  When researching my book, “Awakening The Essential Feminine: Claiming Your Influential Power” I learned that there really is a feminine perspective informed by specific attributes, gifts and talents.  Our brain biology; socialization and whole perspective is different.  Our sisters the suffragettes created an opening where our voices could be heard.  Our later sisters fought for the Equal Rights Amendment which moved us towards an equal footing in business and finance.  Today we face the next movement.  This is the movement to claim and fully live our Essential Feminine.

Often women’s confidence is shaken because we don’t fully understand or claim these natural gifts.  For many women they have been convinced that these gifts are inferior aspects of being.  For us to gain confidence in this world, we first need to “know thyself”.  Once we know ourselves, we then need to believe in ourselves and allow ourselves the opportunity to fully express the amazing beings that we are.  If your confidence has ever been shattered, stand back and rebuild it.  Bring yourself to the company of other women who can serve as models or guides.  If you have strong confidence, look at a sister who does not and guide her.  Point out what is amazing in her.  If she is young, support her to understand the unique and special meaning of her life.  Confidence prevails when we are deeply aware of our meaning.

Sometimes we just need support and clarity to see our own power and strength. You are unique and greatly needed in this world. Be sure to learn your strengths and to fully show up.

“Deep within every life, no matter how dull or ineffectual it may seem from the outside, there is something eternal happening.  This is the secret way that change and possibility conspire with growth.  John Henry Newman summed this up beautifully when he said, “To grow is to change and to be perfect is to have changed often.” Change, therefore, need not be threatening; it can in fact bring our lives to perfection.  Perfection is not cold completion.  Neither is it avoidance of risk and danger in order to keep the soul pure or the conscience unclouded.  When you are faithful to the risk and ambivalence of growth, you are engaging your life.”

                                                                        John O’Donohue, Anam Cara

Take a look at your life and notice where you could grow or change at this time.  Where can you begin to see areas of stagnation or stuckness as opportunities for growth and the expression of your full potential.  It is important not to avoid risk but to be faithful to ambivalence and growth.  For it is in these areas of our lives that we become fully expressed and alive.

“Everything can be taken from a person but one thing: the last of human freedoms- to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

-Viktor Frankl

Victor Frankl was a concentration camp survivor.  For him to be the one to teach us that the freedom of our attitude cannot be taken away from us is truly an eye opener.  When one reaches the bottom and has the strength to teach about choices and attitude one is truly a Saint.  It is true “ Everything can be taken from a person…but one’s attitude.”

When you look at the way you approach life is your attitude a healthy one, and inspiring one?  Where could your attitude serve you and all around you in a better way?  It is in these moments of contemplation where enlightenment occurs.  The world needs us to wake up now and show a light on all is dark.

“Explore your own higher altitudes…Nay be a Columbus to whole new continents and worlds within you, opening new channels not of trade but of thought.  Every man (woman) is the lord of a realm beside which the earthly empire of the Czar is but a petty state, a hummock left by the ice.”

Henry D. Thoreau “On Man & Nature”

Much of our life is lived in the invisible. We have the option of a conscious spiritual inner life and we can make important life decisions informed from within. And if we chose, we can commit to a deeper – richer inner world. Sit quietly- learn to still your mind. Notice what thoughts and feelings come in. Allow yourself to hear and feel yourself. It is in the higher altitude that you will truly know yourself and your needs and from this knowledge live a rich life of meaning.

Happy flying!

1004991834_5eVnU-LIf we finally put an end to the prejudices and persecutions that have caused so much bloodshed and suffering, we have to leave behind cultural traditions that justify violence and abuse in the foundational relations between parents and children and between women and men.  The acceptance of these violations provides a model for accepting human rights abuses across the board.

Riane Eisler “The Power of Partnership”

There is no reason for us to hurt another in any regard.  The unrest of the world is a reflection of our own unrest.  Take a look at your life and notice where you could be at peace.  Take one small step today to increase your own inner peace.  Have faith that this action will add to universal peace.
