Uncertainty serves as one of our greatest teachers.  When we see it as an opportunity to regroup.  In a world that moves fast and places great pressure on us, we tend to need to know, to control.  Control and knowing serve as crutches or security in a world where we really truly know very little and need to be prepared to live from a place of unknowing.

Are you willing to consider looking at uncertainty in a new way?  Could you see it as a friend, an ally – and opportunity?

The opportunities that can be found in trusting what is uncertain are vast.  Try to include some new thinking around uncertainty and use these keys to guide you:

• What uncertainty are you faced with now?
• What is the message or teaching that the uncertainty presenting to you?
• Where could you apply greater trust?
• What would be the next right action?

Quite a while ago I missed an international flight while reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho a life transforming fictional classic that I believe is right up there with many of the great books of wisdom. As I sat reading in the airport I think I was most inspired and enthralled by the clear way that Paulo communicates the fact that we are not alone when aspiring towards creating our dreams- there is so much support on so many levels and in so realms- seen and unseen. We just need to be clear about what we most desire and dream of and then we must begin to reach for our dreams. Most often in these dreams and desires you will find the life you are really… here to live. I guess you could say the veil lifted for me on that day in the airport and my life work to support women began. You never know exactly where the light bulb of life will go off for you! How to Attract THE…. Exact Right Clients to Serve Now!

This week a client asked me about the ways I attract clients…she went on to say “what if I am really committed to fill my practice now– what are the steps that you suggest I take”???

I thought you might enjoy my answer as it applies to all -who may want to jump start your consulting or coaching business. Remember attracting clients involves doing and being… the state of mind we are in when we speak to people is felt by those we are speaking to.

That said it is always best to set a goal for the number of new clients you desire and then carve out a realistic amount of time- say- 1 month or 2 months – to give yourself– to totally prioritize building your client base. This will give you breathing room. Nothing good comes from acting out of desperation.  You need time– non-pressured time– where you dedicate yourself and actions to this intention.  I suggest that you give yourself permission to work on this – with a set deadline. You also need to intend that you desire to attract the exact right clients from the inside out.  All the people you attract to work with you need to be consciously attracted to you- by you. They need to understand specifically how you can be of service to them. This requires that you truly “know thyself “and the gifts you offer. To attract the right clients from the inside out you need find a place stillness to get very clear about what you offer that is of great value to your client. What meets their most important needs?

Also remember that inside out client attraction needs to be done in a state of trust never get it right if – even deep within we feel any sense of scarcity… I know this may sound twee but it is absolutely essential… Trust me.

It is also important to set a clear goal in terms of attracting the exact right clients. Is your business full at 8 clients or 20? I work with 9 women at a time in my Boutique Consulting– and then I start a waiting list. Know what works best for you and then start to picture them signing up to work with you. Picture what you are offering them and see the relationship as being and excellent match.

Now let’s get started with the exact steps:

• I suggest that you immediately create a clear powerful sentence or two that explains what you can specifically change for a client and or what needs that you will specifically meet for your new clients.  Write this down – rehearse speaking it.  Having a strong clear voice and speaking about what you have to offer (uniqueness) – will attract people on the spot- if you are really ready to attract clients. I know you have said you have a gift and bring it through in a different way … how uniquely will you meet specific pressing needs they have. Speak it clearly.

• A very clear picture of who you can best serve now- List the 10 women you now want to work with and know why. Call them – let them know what you offer.

• Make another list of 10 other women you have met – align with– and who you could invite to have a month of sessions as a trial. They differ from the above – because they may want a short series of sessions for clarification – possibly using numerology. Design a short reasonably priced offer to get them from muddled to clear. (Price it fairly to invite and make it easy financially). 

• Create an offer for clients that you have already served well and ask them if they need a regroup session and to spread the word about a Spring Make over offer or??? Offer.

• Offer 3 comps sessions– mini sessions to women that have attended an event you have spoken at. In my earlier career to get better known I did this and it usually led me to a client or 2.

• Schedule 5 calls or meetings with women you know to get their thoughts on who they know that you think you could serve NOW. This will really start spreading… the word. Offer to help them with something they need.

• Start picturing an event that you will host- that is cool and fun –that would bring women together – where you are at the center— create a catchy fun offer like on spot coaching or something to give the event a party feel.

• A Clear State of Mind with a high level of pure intention—internal knowing- attraction and trust and tenacity!!!

It was fun to take this apart and support my client. I hope this gets you moving in a new and creative direction. This week my client and I will start working in a focused and customized way to support her in filling her practice.

Do YOU Know what YOU most need right now? Why Does it Really matter?

In the past year we have had the honor of working with many, many women and we have learned so much more about what we women need. I still deeply believe that when we insure that our basic needs as women are met we can serve others in our life at a much higher level. So – I am really a strong believer that we must know our personal needs and desires and act to fulfill them so that we can be more present – more caring and so that we can live richer deeper contributing lives.

You see you are so special and so unique that it is essential that you understand why and how to be fully alive and engaged in your life. This is what being fully conscious means. I also believe that when you really understand who you are and why you are here– you come out of focusing just on yourself and you become a much more significant contributor in your family, community and you more fully show up in all areas in life. I am beginning to really understand that since we are here for reasons much bigger than our self and our personal needs we have a responsibility to live knowing ourselves and that we then can go beyond our basic needs and include the needs of all-  the whole. The art for us women is to find the balance between giving and receiving and caring for others and making clear time available for us to look after our own needs.

Contemplation, Meditation and Inner Reflection ~Our True Guides in a Fast Paced World?

Contemplation and inner reflection for many of us in this fast paced world are foreign concepts –from the past or maybe states of mind for monks.

These past two years have been very active for me and in retrospect I have been looking at the  inner lifestyle supports that I have turned to that have helped  me to create and live so many  of my dreams as I have been designing and co-creating The Essential Feminine Company. During the past two years  I have had to find ways to stay grounded and open to innovation, peace and the quality of good living that I so value. After two very fast paced years I must now in retrospect acknowledge that my time spent in the quiet mornings in contemplation, meditation and inner reflection have not only been my life savers for creating inner peace but my well spring for creative ideas. This reflective time has been the place where I receive powerful ideas and guidance that leads to inspiration.

Contemplation, meditation and inner reflection have actually become essential to me daily as I have been stopping and listening most mornings in quiet- to hear what is most important and what signs thoughts or repeated patterns are occurring.  I now realize how this guidance and information would go right by me if I did not stop to listen and assimilate. I can now see what a huge price we pay in this world when this time is not taken – for each of us personally and for us collectively on the planet. Taking time to relax and listen- I believe—is where we gain and access so much rich knowledge and wisdom. Imagine if everyone stopped and listened each day! I wonder how our world would be different.

In the past five years-I have noticed how evolved we have become in the areas of thinking and analyzing – as we live in the fast paced information age. Our minds have adapted to these great skills as a way of receiving information for the guidance we turn to make so many of the decisions in our daily lives. But these are only part of the tools and resources we need to be referencing if we desire to live the amazing, intuitive and guided lives that I believe we are meant to live.

So how do we turn from relying often solely on our minds to now incorporate other essential informers? Here are some of my daily friendly reliables.  Try a few out in your early morning and throughout the day:

v  In the morning create a peaceful place to sit- contemplate –gather yourself- a place to -be present.

v  Build time into the morning to sit still- learn a practice to support you. (I find Andrew Harvey’s Book-The Direct Path- a fountain of inspiration and resources for stilling the mind and looking more reflectively at life).

• Sit
• Breath
• Contemplate

v  Make time to include some contact with nature each day.

v  Experience the light, joy and peace throughout the day- some days we actually have to keep an eye out for it!

v  Notice when you are rushing… breath – slow down in that very moment.

•  Value the time you make for you –as a precious gift to and for yourself!
• Be conscious of how you best create quiet in your life—Go with what works and do more of it!

v  Clarity- notice if things are clearer in your life. Are you seeing things differently? Getting more information?
