Use Your Bad Experience

Victor Frankl was a concentration camp survivor.  For him to be the one to teach us that the freedom of our attitude cannot be taken away from us is truly an eye opener.  When one reaches the bottom and has the strength to teach about choices and attitude one is truly a Saint.  It is true “ Everything can be taken from a person…but one’s attitude.”

When you look at the way you approach life is your attitude a healthy one, and inspiring one?  Where could your attitude serve you and all around you in a better way?  It is in these moments of contemplation where enlightenment occurs.  The world needs us to wake up now and show a light on all is dark.

The Feminine Perspective: An Undiscovered Gem

What is the “feminine perspective”?  The feminine perspective is an undiscovered gem.  It is the ability to see from our own unique feminine selves.  If we allow ourselves to claim the parts of us that are unique because of our feminine brain biology, hormones, and our socialization, we begin to see the world through the eyes of the feminine perspective.

When we live from the feminine perspective, we use our natural gifts; our intuition, our verbal ability, our mental flexibility, our collaborative nature, our caring and empathy, etc. to enrich our lives and our world.  These are some of the gifts that make up the new feminine perspective and, when fully claimed, will ignite our lives as we lead a project in business; go to a community meeting; take a political office or care take our children.   By claiming our gifts, and natural rhythms, we gain happiness through the ability to live in an outward-inward integrated life.

Taking Confidence to a Whole New Level for Big Time Life Payoffs

We often don’t take time to look at or think about how confident we are in our life, our life challenges and the world.  Our confidence is rooted in many aspects of our lives.  Some of these aspects include how we feel physically, how we look and how aligned our life is with a greater meaning or purpose.  Our health   The quality of our health directly relates to the energy we have on a daily basis and how we feel over all.

Our physical appearance, posture and how show up in the world dictates how we are perceived and received.  It is also a direct reflection, in many cases, as to how we feel about ourselves. 

The greater meaning and purpose that our life holds is also a key factor in building strong confidence – as when we have meaning in our lives our days become brighter, more alive and richer in all ways. 

Confidence as we can see is built from many different aspects of our life.  I have recently reignited a yoga practice and have noticed how my posture has improved.  And, how when walking into a room I feel stronger, more upright and more confident.  I also have been noticing the foods I put into my body and how specifically I feel after eating different foods.  There is something very consistent about the buzz of sugar and the immediate bliss I receive but an hour later I can consistently count on a physiological dip.  If you meet me during this dip and after not having stretched or loosened up the tightness in my body for some time you would be meeting a less confident woman who carries herself differently In the world.  Trust me I have tested this correlation time and time again.  I have come to realize that we can’t express next level of confidence without looking at our bodies, our minds and our spirit.  I recently heard Deepak Chopra give a talk on body mind medicine to about 2500 people in California.  Not only are we interrelated on the global front through, commerce, our monetary system, the way that germs and epidemics travel  but we are also interconnected within  our own being.  A truly confident woman gains strength from a fully respected, fully charged body from a mind that is clear and rested and a soul that is deeply expressed, in the way that she shows up contributes and lives in this world.

Alive, Awake and Ready to Go in 2011

We are often overwhelmed by the world around us and wonder how we as individuals could make a difference.  Our world isn’t the way we would like it to be; what can we do?  I believe that the only true way to change the world around us is to change our inner world as it is reflected in what we attract from the outer world.  I believe that, as Shakti Gawain said in her Reflections in the Light “When we trust and follow the energy of the universe within us, it leads us into the appropriate action for any given situation.  It may lead us to speak or be silent, to move and dance or be still, to sing, shout, cry, or meditate.  In interactions with others it may lead us to converse, to hug, to sit quietly together.  The passion of life exists in all of these experiences and fulfillment comes from following and expressing this energy naturally, as we really need it.”

Once again we are at that time of year when we look back at the past and make resolutions about how we’d like to make changes in the New Year ahead.  This is the perfect time to think about the inner resources that we naturally hold; such as a deep understanding of the whole, a natural ability for care and compassion, and a deep innate wisdom to be able to see through the outer surface of things.  If we find ways to integrate these attributes into our lives in a way that enhances our personal power and our ability to pull from our own resources and depth, our lives would become more successful.
