You are the one you have been waiting for

These times are great times if we stay wide awake and ride the wild horse- called -life with a sense of adventure. You have so much– so many gifts, talents and you carry great power. Opportunities abound and life can now be easier than ever if you tap into and live from who – you really are.

Take a moment to reflect on wherein your life that there are more openings and opportunities for you.  I suggest that if you are interested in creating a life of greater ease and meaning that you answer this question.

·         How well do you know yourself? (Are there external voices and influences confusing you?)

·         What do you now need to create, allow or invite into your life?

·         Are you committed to taking your life to the next level?

·         If so, what does that look like?

·         If not, what’s stopping you?

·         Commit to one small step to move you forward on your path

If you need support- clarifying or creating this new way of being and living…

“Deep within every life, no matter how dull or ineffectual it may seem from the outside, there is something eternal happening.  This is the secret way that change and possibility conspire with growth.  John Henry Newman summed this up beautifully when he said, “To grow is to change and to be perfect is to have changed often.” Change, therefore, need not be threatening; it can in fact bring our lives to perfection.  Perfection is not cold completion.  Neither is it avoidance of risk and danger in order to keep the soul pure or the conscience unclouded.  When you are faithful to the risk and ambivalence of growth, you are engaging your life.”

Take a look at your life and notice where you could grow or change at this time.  Where can you begin to see areas of stagnation or stuckness as opportunities for growth and the expression of your full potential.  It is important not to avoid risk but to be faithful to ambivalence and growth.  For it is in these areas of our lives that we become fully expressed and alive.

“Explore your own higher altitudes…Nay be a Columbus to whole new continents and worlds within you, opening new channels not of trade but of thought.  Every man (woman) is the lord of a realm beside which the earthly empire of the Czar is but a petty state, a hummock left by the ice.”

Henry D. Thoreau “On Man & Nature”

Much of our life is lived in the invisible. We have the option of a conscious spiritual inner life and we can make important life decisions informed from within. And if we chose, we can commit to a deeper – richer inner world. Sit quietly- learn to still your mind. Notice what thoughts and feelings come in. Allow yourself to hear and feel yourself. It is in the higher altitude that you will truly know yourself and your needs and from this knowledge live a rich life of meaning.

Happy flying!

“…the future is not fixed.  The other side of the bridge to the future is not an objective, predetermined, static destination.  In reality, it is a moveable object, a set of probabilities, and most important, a karmic consequence of the lives we lived yesterday and the lives we live today.

The bridge to the future is a bridge that moves – and the land to which it is connected moves as well – according to how we walk across the bridge and who we are while we are walking.”

— Marianne Williamson, Editor “Imagine”

We are the bridge to our futures.  In the lives we live, in the individual choices we make.  We can live in fear of life enhanced by the news media’s gloom and doom reports or we can take small positive steps across the bridge towards a better future.  The choices that we make are very personal and individual.  However, each choice creates the pattern for the life that we live.  Each choice is reflected in the previous choice and the choice to come.

Look backwards to yesterday.  What choices are you living that are the consequences of the past?

Look forward to tomorrow.  What choices do you want to make today that will ripple through and effect your tomorrow?

1004991834_5eVnU-LIf we finally put an end to the prejudices and persecutions that have caused so much bloodshed and suffering, we have to leave behind cultural traditions that justify violence and abuse in the foundational relations between parents and children and between women and men.  The acceptance of these violations provides a model for accepting human rights abuses across the board.

Riane Eisler “The Power of Partnership”

There is no reason for us to hurt another in any regard.  The unrest of the world is a reflection of our own unrest.  Take a look at your life and notice where you could be at peace.  Take one small step today to increase your own inner peace.  Have faith that this action will add to universal peace.

“If you try to view yourself through the lenses that others offer you, all you will see are distortions; your own light and beauty will become blurred, awkward, and ugly.  Your sense of inner beauty has to remain a very private thing.”

John O’Donohue “Anam Cara”

We all hold a unique and distinct inner beauty that others do not always understand.  Be sure to view yourself through your own lens as you receive signs and messages and important information from your inner life.  Never be too proud to reject feedback but do so selectively.

Give yourself permission to create something new in your life today.

Stop glorifying being busy long enough to slow down, feel your body, and live a much healthier, creative and inspired life.  When you are not overbooked and pushing to prove yourself, you allow yourself to live in the moment and life becomes invigorating and exciting.  For years our cultures have encouraged us to rush and to push to produce.

Recently I’ve taken more than my usual time for reflection and contemplation as I was starting to notice that I falling into the glorification of busy syndrome.

Over the past couple of months I have totally reevaluated my next steps and created a far more relaxed set of intentions for the year.  I’ve begun to turn more inward towards my intuition for answers and next steps.  I’m making more time for reflections, nature and to notice my natural rhythm.

I wondered:

  • Where are you spinning out in business or life?
  • What needs to happen for you to take more time for you, nature and inner listening?

I’m hosting a mini retreat to address these issues and would love for you to join me in April.

The only way to powerfully achieve what you set out to do is to create a clear vision for business and life.  This vision will serve as a guide for you to grow into what’s next.  Your vision also helps you communicate to others what you intend to create.  The art of creating has a clear metaphysical rule which is “if you can believe it you can achieve it”.

conceived in vision. the essential feminine woman

For many women, their business is a reflection of some aspect of their talents, gifts and values.  In this case it easy for them to communicate about their business because their heart is in it.  I truly believe that we need to create our life so that we live with our gifts and values at the forefront with a clear vision for both how we want to live our live and create our businesses.

I’ve created a few questions for you to answer below that I believe will help you connect more deeply with what you offer in business or your work life and will most likely connect you more strongly with what you offer in the world.

  1. What is the greatest value your business provides others?
  2. What is the greatest joy your business provides you?
  3. What is the greatest wish you have for your business?
  4. What is the vision you hold for your business going forward in the next year?

I strongly believe that we need to re-enliven our connection to our business on a regular basis.

Did you get any new insights or revelations from answering these questions?  Please let me know.

Take good care and remember to take time for you.

Is Your Life Full Of Simplicity, Order, Harmony, Beauty And Joy?

Wonder what would be different if they were?

“Simplicity, order, harmony, beauty and joy – all the other principles that can transform your life will not blossom and flourish without gratitude.”

I suggest that we all make sure we build gratitude into each day. Consider making it a daily practice. Let’s start together today. I agree full heartedly with Sarah.

The qualities that she mentions in the quote above are at the top of my mind these days. Simplicity has become a good friend as I have noticed I have a tendency to over complicate things. Order – gives me freedom from chaos and more clarity.

Beauty and joy are at the center of my every day. I am realizing how important it is to consistently notice how ever present beauty is in our day.  Joy is a choice –again, available to us every day if we take the time to clear disharmony and to invite joy in.

Harmony is the quality that brings peace and has a pleasing effect in our lives.

It is a quality that I have been paying a lot of attention to these days.  I have been noticing that both me and the good earth are crying for greater harmony. Mother earth has been thrown off balance. In many ways we live off her yet separate from her.  When she is off balance we are all off balance.

In the stream of consciousness that I am sharing with you here– I feel a distinct desire to return to gratitude. Gratitude is where we become conscious of these gifts and is a resting place for us to pay reverence and to root them more deeply in our life. Always remember- each day – to find time to rest – in gratitude. The rewards are huge.

This past week end was Thanksgiving here in the States and I had a truly relaxed and reflective weekend. As a special bonus. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Patmore (Leslie Nicol) -the cook from Downton Abbey (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/downtonabbey/).

Maureen and Leslie Nicol

What a refreshing treat that was! Having spent years in the music industry, I have had the opportunity to meet many stars and  public figures so when I was invited to come along and meet Mrs. Patmore I was not over the moon. But because I love the show it sounded like fun.

I found Leslie Nicol to be one of the most humble and grounded celebrities I have ever met. She spoke of London – a city we shared – as I would with a close girlfriend. She showed her vulnerability and humanness in the most beautiful way. She won my respect and got me thinking:

How can I be myself fully expressing my gifs and at the same time be FULLY present in all the lives I touch?  What does humility mean to me and how can I live with this beautiful attribute at the fore front of my life?

I always like to look at the day to day situations I encounter and find a valuable take away from each experience. What is your answer to the above questions?
